WASHING
The sails as a first step are soaked in special washing solution to be cleansed from salt and impurities. Remaining stains are removed by use of sail washing liquid, special brushes and cleansing machine. During the whole process no whitening cleaners nor presurized water is used in order not to damage the sail cloth and coating. Unfortunately there is no guarantee of removal for rust and soaked in stains from the cloth.

After washing and cleaning process the sails are dried and controled from top to bottom for stitches and tell tails. When any needed repairs are found, this is reported to the client and repairs and maintenance is carried out depending on their approval.
REPAIRS
All materials used during repairs are of highest quality and best brands. All accessories including sewing thread is salt resistant and with high UV protection.

WINTER MAINTENANCE
You can extend the life of your sails with regular winter maintenance. The sails you are using all year long is subject salt water, rain and dust carried with wind. If your sails are not purified from these effects they will get damages in time and the life span will be shortenned. Apart from your sails, the other parts like lazy bag, bimini, sprayhood, tents are also subject to the same effects and the maintenance of these will enable them to serve you for long years. UK Sailmakers is providing this winter maintenance service in Turkiye with widely spread service chain.
UK LAZY BAG
UK Sailmakers lazy bag system is the easiest and effective way to wrap and protect your main sail from the sun. Our sail wrapping system consists of high UV resistance acrylic UV cover and lazy jack ropes. Sails which are not wrapped in lazy bag are exposed to sun and UV rays are causing damage to sail cloth and accessories resulting in deformation, even tear to put them out of use. All you have to do is ease the hallyard to settle the sail in the lazy bag and pull the zip to close. This way, you can protect your sail from the sun and outside effects within minutes.

UV BAND CHANGE
UV Protective tape is the most effective method of protecting your winding sails against UV rays. UV Tapes are manufactured from special acrylic fabrics that are not affected by the sun. When the UV band of your sail is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Otherwise, your sails will be exposed to the wearing effect of the sun. All the materials we use, from sewing thread to corner columns in UV Tape repair and replacement, have high UV resistance. Poor materials and poor sewing machines to be used during these repairs and replacements will definitely not get the right result and your sails will look worse and not protected than before.

This department is specially formed to produce high quality covers, bags and tents. In our lofts, this service is given with same quality and attention as our sail production.

SAIL MODIFICATION
Although the most common task in our lofts is to repair tear and rips, we offer more than that. We can modify your sails depending on your needs. Add more reefs to your mainsail, modify leech battens to full battens or in case of difficulties in hoisting or easing we can change your existing sliders with more efficient systems.
